Well we're here and inside the Sands to bring you all the goods from Interbike 2005. There are so many exhibitors on site that there is no way we'll get to all the goods, but we will have the best of the best for you to enjoy. Sit back, relax and let the photos and words do the walking for you in bike dream land. Our first meeting was with the folks at Full Speed Ahead (FSA) to go over the changes they have been working on to their Freeride line up of components. The Gravity line has undergone a few changes, such as creating a new, more adjustable seatpost.

You can now do the major adjustments with the big notches and then micro adjust with the front and rear bolts.

The Gravity line up features subtle graphics that really stand out on their own. The new outboard b.b. cranks have big bearings that are close to twice as wide as the competition's offerings and fit b.b. shells ranging from 65 to 85 mm.

-new cammed Q/R's that are going to see spec on the new Rocky Mountain Bicycles.

On our way to our next venue we stopped by Deity Components and Transition Bikes.
Deity has a few new offerings:

-New 2014 Aluminum bar to replace the 7075 offering
-This bar will bend before it breaks.

-New Jump Saddle

-New grey paint scheme to go with the much popular Black and White.
-Cranks are on par with SAINT and Diabolus for weight.

Transition Bikes have fully refined their whole line up for 2006.
The new Trail N Park H/T frame is leaps and bounds above their old model.

-down to 6.4 lbs from the previous 8 lbs
-euro b.b.
-10mm bolt on or q/r rear drop outs

The all new Gran Mal frame is their answer to the need for a big bike that is made to go big too.
-8.75" of rear travel
-multiple shock mount options and the ability to run different stroke length shocks make it a versatile big bike.

The big shock in frame refinement was that they are no longer running Danger Boy link plates, but rather their own on all new models. They are still and will continue to carry the DB plates though for past models.
Transition has also came out with a few new components for '06.

Almost at our second meeting and we had to stop and talk to John at Syncros components. Always having been a big fan of the old Syncros products, I was pretty happy when it was resurrected a few years back. The new 1.5" FBI (freeride ballistics inside) headset that is meant for 1.125" forks in build tough.

-can take a 40 000 lbs test load, where the standard is 1000 lbs

New Ti body pedal that has the weight benefits of the magnesium, but with the strength we all love in Ti.

The rims have under gone a little modification too in the form of notches on the bead lip. This makes the rim/tire interface a lot more "slip" resistant when riders are running low sub 20 psi. No more tires spinning on the rim.

photo

-Chain guide that is said to run on any frame

photo

-Rear hub has 6 big sealed bearings while the front 20mm hub has 4 sealed bearings and converts to a 9mm with axle adaptor.

photo

-My new favorite seatpost has even undergone a sweet mod that will give the user 30 mm of offset by simply turning the rails 180 degrees.

Finally we are at the Danger Boy / TSG booth were Daryl Bowman and Todd Mackenzie are flaunting the newest goods. Danger Boy is now the exclusive distributor in north america for TSG and ready to ship their goods.

Off to see what SDG has been up to since it's been months since I last saw their goods at Sea Otter. Well they have been busy revamping and pushing the I-Beam with a lot of success. All the I-Beam saddles have been given stronger DuPont Nylon base material as an all around upgrade to strength and durabilty. Strength enhances is the name of the game.

-new cross hatch design versus original offerings

-specing I-Beam seats and seatposts as OEM with 22 companies for '06
-Thomson has got a working model in the works
-Kore has seats and posts too.

Wow time flies when you're having fun, off to Intense cycles to see what new VPP offering they have got to show.

The 6.6 is the new Enduro frame that weighs in sub 7 lbs and features all the same great ride characteristics as the 5.5 but with more travel, bigger rear tire clearance and the abillity to run a longer fork with the 1.5 steerer.

The M3 was sitting pretty after a very succesful race season and has remained the same for '06 except for the new rear shock. It will be running the new Manitou Revox, which has been well received from the team.

Tonight is the NWD6 premier so I better get to it. See you all tomorrow!
