The fourth and final day in California took us on a wild ride. Instead of going out and hitting the Skate Park or riding dirt jumps, we went surfing! Isaac brought out a couple of his surfboards to let us give it a go. What I didn’t know was that Isaac is a pro surfer! How awesome is that, the first time we were learning to surf was being taught by a pro.
I grabbed the board and headed out first.Isaac showed me the correct way to lie on the board and how to bring yourself up to a standing position. I managed to get it first try! He was impressed. He told me that he had never in all his years surfing seen anyone get up on his or her first try. I felt pretty good about myself. I rode a few small waves and then started to go for the big ones and wow did I get my @$$ kicked! Ha-ha. I decided I wanted to body surf so I passed the board off to Carl.

Carl's first try was so close. He stood up and wobbled off the side. But sure enough he nailed it on his second try and rode the smaller wave into shore. Then he headed out to the bigger waves where he got tossed around just like I did, except he got domed by the board when he came up.
So all in all we had a great first experience surfing and I can’t thank Isaac enough for the great morning. My mom had been telling me to write her name in the sand while the tide was out, so I finally did. The first time I actually wrote her name but once I finished a wave came through and wiped it out. It took me about 10-15 minutes to dig her name into the sand. I got fed up and decided I would just write MOM. Carl took a few pictures, so I could show her.
Digging for mom
Hi Mom
After that we decided it was time for some food and we headed to a Mexican diner for burritos. They were great! I thought I would spice mine up a bit but accidentally poured way too much hot sauce or what ever it was into my burrito. By the time I finished it my mouth was on fire. For some reason I could not stop sneezing and my nose just kept running. I bought another ice tea and was good to go.
Carl and I said our goodbyes to Isaac and thanked him for being our chauffeur for the weekend. As well as thanks to Chris and Rick for helping out a ton too.
The past 4 days were the absolutely incredible. I rode with new people and made new friends. I rode by far the best Skate Park I have came across and as for the dirt jumps, keep it up guys I wish I could have helped build instead of only having time to ride. Even though this was supposed to be a replacement event for the Super Sessions, nothing really came of it. That’s why I can’t thank Isaac, Chris, and Rick enough for showing us some wicked spots and making our trip worthwhile! Best chauffeurs I have ever had.
Thanks to everyone in Cali who helped us out!
A huge thanks to Transition Bikes for sending Carl and I on a wicked adventure!
I will be down to Cali soon for some training, so don’t worry Isaac I will use that spare bedroom!
Thanks for reading.
