Greg Williamson has announced on social media that an early crash in practice has taken him out of racing in Les Gets with a dislocated shoulder.

After a great start to the season making every World Cup final and taking seventh at Fort William, Williamson will be missing the action in Les Gets. Medics were able to pop Williamson's shoulder back in and his team, Madison Saracen, says he will be back soon.

bigquotesGreg Williamson took a wee tumble early on in practice resulting in a dislocated shoulder. He’s all sorted and on the mend.

He’ll be back swinging soon enough!!

We wish Greg all the best and hope he is back racing soon.

Glad to see an athlete post an injury pic with the thumbs down. Getting injured sucks, you can't ride and every injury just adds up later in life. Good to see somebody not trying to make it look cool for once.

Looks like a beast- but shoulders are so vulnerable. I did a posterior dislocation a year ago in NZ. Threw everything at it 2PT a week, hyperbaric oxygen chambers etc as didn’t want to cancel a trip and was riding in Squamish/Whistler 7 weeks later. One year later I’m back to 97%. Kids strengthen your shoulders before it’s too late!

Lol going through exact same thing now. Should I look into the oxygen chamber? Never heard of that.

Have a Whistler trip in a month.

Been doing 2x PT a week and I’m back riding, but not 100%.

@nvranka: hyberbaric chambers increase atmospheric pressure to 2-3 times normal at the same time you have an mask on pumping in higher concentration of oxygen. Basically the combo forces oxygen into harder to reach places -ie ligaments. Means you can go a bit harder on the rehab.

Gutted for him. He's had a decent season and seems to be a great fit at Madison Saracen.
