There are plenty of bike park etiquette offenders out there and with more parks opening worldwide every week, some basic education will help all riders have a better time on the trails. Here's a light hearted how-to video from Sam Pilgrim and Chris Smith explaining the do's and don'ts at the all-new WindHill B1ke Park in the UK.
That last one should relate to local trails to. We went down one of my favourite local lines last night to find someone's modded the jumps really badly to the point of being dangerous. If you didn't build it, don't muck about with it. Can't do it or it's not big enough? Go and build what you want elsewhere.
@sampilgrim: Mate the quality is getting better and better... Loving the humour throughout your vids too, it's awesome you have the time to be a PRO on the circuit and make these for us....Yea Boi
This is what we need more of, men in positions that truly influence others, doing the right thing. Be kind and think of your impact on others no matter what you're doing. You guys killed it with this video!
Hey man here's one for the etiquette books. So bit of back ground I've had whistler seasons passes for the bike park for a long time. I know my etiquette.... Last year while introducing my 8yo to the bike park, up from behind came "a ripping park rat" so there we are minding our own business on golden triangle and this dude comes up on us at warp speed poaching a green circle trail. I always ride behind my kid in the park and this dude comes up and has to ditch his bike and almost goes off a 15ft cliff into a creek doing so...So the guy crashes and tries to blame me for stopping on the trail or going too slow. He's all hyped up after his crash and acting like a total goof to me and my kid. He's lucky he had an older gentleman along with him that was trying to tell him that he was in the wrong. He needed to be told in a different sorta way that would hit home a little harder.... anywho. Bottom line is don't be a stoopid on the rippin trails and if you can rip, don't be a stoopid on the beginner trails. couple of red bulls or a beer or three at the longhorn and people tend to forget about etiquette pretty quick.
Been, there, had that happen. Some riders seem to forget that all people start somewhere. It is no differen than skiing, the faster rider coming from behind needs to make sure it is safe to pass and expect the inexperienced rider to do unexpected things.
lol...this video should be shown to the bikers that visit blue mountain. The lineup to the gondola's is always packed with garbage on the grass and the group.
Absolutely agree
Wicked light hearted film with good info!
