Mountain biking has taken influences from everything from BMX to big mountain skiing, so it's always cool to see mountain bike influences in other sports. Kris Foster is a madman.
@adrennan: All the real ________ edits are incredible. I'm so glad X Games has been doing this series. I'd really love to see something similar in mountain biking
I've only watched two or three moto videos in my whole life...I watched this one four times so far. That was nuts. I had no idea. That flying sensation must be absolutely incredible. Or is it too terrifying to appreciate just how amazing it feels?
How much suspension travel do these machines have?
Also dirt bike suspension weighs about 30 pounds, doesn't have to worry about pedal bob, and usually has more available adjustments than you can shake a stick at, and so it feels--to my untrained posterior, anyway--about 100x better than MTB squish, even though the actual travel isn't that much longer. I think the (rotating) mass of the dirt bike makes it deflect less, too, and the tires have so much sidewall that's a form of suspension itself.
You can also drop like 13 grand on dirt bike suspension if you feel like it--does such a phenomenon exist in MTB?
Rather watch that as a one off than some dudes skidding the f*ck out of A-Line or where ever, with the 1 minute warm up, the rain shot, the staring shot, the google shot..tbh if its not Scott Serco or Cadwell shot it's usually not all that
I thought this was super cool. To all you haters out there, where do you think mountain bike suspension came from? Check out a 1990 moto bike as compared to a 1990 mountain bike... Look at how big this dude is sending it! Makes most things on a mountain bike look pretty small. And you can get 50hp and some serious travel for the same price as a lot of pedal bikes!!
Ya, im wearing down my wife for a moto. All the best riders cross train with them too. Like every riders off season edits featured some moto riding. The 2 are compliments and i love seeing both.
Please buy a motorbike and shred some private land. After, get gooned and watch Crusty Demons on repeat. Can't wait for mountain bikes to become the pedally little cousin to moto. Mountain biking on multi-use trails and public land is doomed if mtb aligns itself with moto culture. But maybe all the resort, lift access riders don't give a s---

Nothing that new appart from the backflips and spins, I mostly feel like I'm just looking at a new school version of Terrafirma or Custy Demons... Wich is cool in a way !
Pretty sure this is what the local kids think they look like when they take their stolen dirtbikes down to our trails. Unfortunately they don't seem to actually take off from them, rather, they stop on top of them and roost the lips away.
Damn, how big was that last move, that looked like over 100ft from launch to landing, that crazy! I took a sip from my coffee and a bite out of my egg sandwich and he was still in the air!
As a quote I heard somewhere.... The 'He must have huge balls' analogy is so far off the mark. Balls are soft and squidgy, and one little tap and you are rolling round on the ground in agony. However, a vagina is much tougher and can take a real pounding. So I reckon he must have a huge vag.
Are any other motorcycle riders and motocross racers specifically sick of hearing people refer to mx bikes as "motos"? Every time I hear it I picture white sunglasses and 1000ml energy drink cans.... please stop say motos.
Did one tuff Moto mutha just ask if we can get all PC about his brapppetty brap hobby? Do fill us in on the compassionate term for motor-driven off-road two-wheeled vehicle activities dear linguistically sensitive throttle twister B-D
Tell that to many of the top pro dh guys, Aaron Gwin, Greg Minnaar, Steve Peat, to name a few, all have raced and or ride mx to get better at dh racing, after you ride mx everything on a mountain bike seems smaller including the speed.
@velociraptor-clintthrust: ok but such posts create clutter that has to be filtered. If PB posts reviews of kitchen appliances I can ignore them, sure, but it's not convenient. Even if Aaron Gwin also has to use them if he wants to race, otherwise he would starve. I come here to read about bikes, not moto X.
In a despirate move to diversify revenue and eyeball statistics the head of editorial content allowed anything with remote association to two weeks on their MTB sites, taking the core focus from the individual to the machine. And #machine it is, #machineweek@pinkbike. Bring the weekend and some clean human only powered MTB racing to clean our palette.
I fully agree. Since when did PinkBike become a motocross site. This had absolutely nothing to do what-so-ever with mountain biking. I am not hacking on the riders skill in this video, I am only saying this is not and should not be the place for that. MTB only.
Fully agree. Why so many people hate ebikes, and at the same time love those stinking and noisy things? That's beyond me... If people ride moto X on dedicated training sites that's fine with me and godspeed, but too often I see them on normal trails. Why do these guys go outdoors if they can't hear anything anyway and inhale the exhaust fumes, and on top of that ruin the fun for others who choose outdoors exactly because they want silence and fresh air? Please respond before downvoting cause I'm really curious.
@Slabrung: I'm going to respond, but it will seem obvious. People can like different things than you do, and they can have different reasons. Likely anti-ebike people are not super stoked on mx, but that's why different people are commenting. Live and let Live, and stop thinking that if you do or don't like something that the world needs to fall in line with your needs and wants. You are not the sun. The world does not revolve around you.

re: 13 grand...they're trying hard and I think they're getting close. It is coming.
have i just shot myself in the foot ?

Awesome video, I think it really broadens our minds what is possible to do on two wheels.
Good job PB!

pretty sure 1st step in making a moto edit is finding the worst possible soundtrack.
Although I will say it was refreshing to see this edit was filmed outside the usual 12sq mile tweeker zone in SoCal.
