 I think this was a visit to a geographical location with recognized international boarders. I am no fan of the imperial nature of the country of which I am a citizen, and am painfully aware of many of the consequences of this way of interacting with the world (both to my benefit and to the detriment of others).
There are, however, innumerable fabulous places to ride, countless gorgeous sites to see, and millions of amazing people.... we also have our share of people who are truly bizarre and unaware that there is a world beyond our borders. I promise to continue to work to change the way my country acts in the neighborhood, and invite you to consider that the US portrayed in the nightly news is not the full story.
