Yeah it's surprising what a difference things lie dual ply tyres and coil shocks make. I ran a coil rear on my 5 for a while and a dual ply minion up front (ST) and it was noticeably more diffucult on climbs due to the extra weight. That said it rode amazingly on the downward with that set up Big Grin

I'm going to try it out at the forst of dean a week on friday so will be a good mix of xc and downhill. It feels as though it would climb pretty well but will definitely make a couple of changes to make it a bit easier. Got some 2.35 dual ply 60a minions so hoping they will be a good compromise.

Cool, 60a's are pretty good I find although took my 5 for a play at West woods near Marlborough last Sunday, there's a load of DH tracks there and it was really muddy, the ol' Minnion/highroller combo wasn't such a good idea. Slipping and sliding all over the shop Wink

Thought you might say that? it's a beauty. Do you use it on trail rides as well or just DH?

Yeah I think you're right. Would have to change tyres to make it rill a bit quicker and lighten it up a bit.
